John Deere is not the only company showing an electric tractor at SIMA this week. So too is TYM, but then at the opposite end of the power scale and a prototype of a compact tractor called the T293EV (Electric Vehicle). The details are limited, but what we can reveal is the diesel engine and fuel tank have been swapped for an electric motor and battery pack. The batteries are claimed to provide sufficient energy to power the 20kW electric motor for up to five hours. The tractor will return to South Korea at the end of the this week for further tests. The company says it is planning mass production in the future (with a hint of more powerful models), but says there is no fixed time frame.
