Czech manufacturer SMS has revamped three more mounted models in the Ontario light disc cultivator range.
Joining the existing mounted Ontario 300 (3.0m), and trailed 500 (5.0m) and 600 (6.0m) models – which were all upgraded two years ago – the Czech manufacturer says that main benefits of the three latest versions: the 400H (4.0m), 500H (5.0m) and 600H (6.0m), are increased residue flow and operator comfort.

With increased underframe clearance and larger spacing between the working sections, the new models are said to significantly reduce the risk of blockages when working in trashy conditions.
Diameter of the standard disc is 510mm (560mm optional), and tine geometry has been modified to provide improved disc guidance and there is a more aggressive working angle. The single-tine design has been swapped for double tines. These are attached to the frame using rubber silent blocks. Maintenance-free bearings are standard.

The wings are independently mounted for optimal ground contour following, and working depth is hydraulically adjustable down to 12cm. The wide range of options includes APV seeding units for cover crops and levelling boards for the 5.0m and 6.0m models.
SMS says that the Ontario range is available in the UK and Ireland. The Czech manufacturer cooperates with West Sussex-based The Small Bale Company, but is keen to seek more dealers.
