Spaldings is now the exclusive UK and Ireland distributor of the ACREplus range of soil-engaging parts made by Milson Foundry in New Zealand. The range, which includes points for cultivators, subsoilers and tine drills, are available for fitting to many types of existing implements.

For subsoiler and winged cultivator points, a specially-formulated highly wear-resistant steel is welded to a base material that absorbs shocks, with tungsten tiles added in areas of greatest wear pressure. This combination provides high wear resistance without being brittle, which says Spaldings, makes the parts well suited to soils that are quite abrasive or have a high stone content.

The Lincs-based company has had a busy year bolstering its portfolio of wearing parts. Earlier this year it introduced the Universal drill coulter points from Dutch Openers.
