Lucas G was showing a new three-speed powershift gearbox at Agritechnica. It was fitted to a low height 39m3, triple auger mixer.
After Agritechnica, the 3.0m high feeder was off to its home in Austria. The low height was achieved by fitting 445/45 R19.5 tyres instead of the normal R22.5s. The spring suspension mounts were also altered on this machine which had steering axles.

Lucas G sales manager for the UK and Ireland, Jan Soukenka pointed out that the new powershift transmission allows the auger speed to be changed on the fly, reducing the strain on the tractor to get a full tub moving and then speed up when it comes to discharging. This will be a new option on twin and triple auger machines.

Other details on the show machine included digital position sensors for the four doors. The sensor is incorporated into the rams for operating the doors. Lastly, the lower 50cm of the hopper can be double-skinned as can the edge of the lower flighting on the mixing augers to extend their service life.
