German company Tadus is one of several exhibitors showing a fully electric tractor at Agritechnica.

Producing a maximum power of 160hp (120kW), the battery inside the T16.20 powers five electric motors – one each for the front and rear axles, two others for the front and rear ptos and one for the hydraulics. There is no external power for electric implements.

Hydraulic flow is 75l/min (100l/min option), rear lift capacity is 5.0t (front 3.0t), and the tractor’s empty weight of 7.5t can be boosted to a maximum of 10.8t.

The 196kWh battery is said to provide enough power 5-10 hours when used around the farm for feeding and loader work. Recharging takes two hours with the 100kWh fast charger. The tractor was finished with just enough time to bring it to the Hanover Fairgrounds.

The Bavarian company plans to make five pre-production models for next year and is ambitiously talking of making the first batch of 15 production models in 2027 and quickly ramp up the numbers to 250-300 units a year by 2028/2029.

The company also plans to add come with other models, but not for another 2-3 years. In the meantime, the T16.20 costs around €300,000.
