Case IH has upped the power, tweaked the powershift, and made a few other performance boosting changes to its top-end Magnum tractors.
The new lineup comprises the 355 (390hp/boost to 410hp), 385 (417hp/435hp) and 405 (435hp no boost). The 385 and 405 models can be specified in Rowtrac configuration.

Replacing the Magnum 340 (340/375hp), 380 (379/415hp) and 400 (396/435hp), the six-pot Stage V FPT 8.7l block delivers a lot more power in the smallest model and a higher rated output in the 355. The maximum output of the 405 is on a par with the outgoing 400, but the 435hp is now available all the time.
There is no change to the FPT six-pot Stage V 8.7l engine, and transmission options are the same PowerDrive (21F/5R) full powershift or CVXDrive (385 and 405 models can also be specified in Rowtrac configuration).

Like several other Case IH models, the latest Magnums are available with three technology packages. They are also available with AccuSync, which allows multiple machines to connect within a field, sharing data such as A-B lines and coverage maps.
However, the PowerDrive box now includes brake-to-clutch that disengages the transmission when the brake pedals are depressed. When the brakes are released, the tractor accelerates to its previous speed, and the operator can set and choose from three ratio settings between brake force and tractor deceleration. Case IH says that this brings CVT-like convenience and operating function to the full powershift.
Additionally, refinements to the tractors’ Automatic Productivity Management allow the operator to fine-tune settings through the Pro 1200 display. It is possible to adjust the acceleration rate, make 15% speed changes to the target speed, and alter upshift sensitivity and aggressiveness rate settings. There is a new aggressiveness button on the armrest and operators can also now toggle directly for faster adjustment between field and road mode.

New horizontally-mounted electrohydraulic remote valve assemblies provide increased reliability, an improved hydraulic power curve and maximum oil retention for higher implement performance.
The optional front hitch now features mid-mount valves with a higher-performing valve slice, providing 20% more maximum pressure-side flow (120l/min) for enhanced lift performance. Additionally, the new dual-line hydraulic trailer brake is said to deliver smoother braking and enhanced stopping power and comfort compared to single-line systems.
The latest Pro 1200 display is now offered in a dual format for applications requiring two screens, and the new FieldOps data management app and web platform, gives users near real-time access to both their machine and agronomic data.
