Alongside the updates to the 6M and 6R, Deere has also revamped the smaller frame 8R, 8RT and 8RX models. Most of the changes revolve around features launched with the larger frame 8R tractors in February.
The refreshed lineup includes five 280-410hp wheeled 8R and four track models spanning 310hp to 410hp in 8RT and 8RX variants. The big changes are in the CommandView 4 cab and the guidance ready for autonomy.
The redesigned CommandArm multi-function armrest can have the CommandX Plus or Pro controls for operating the E23 powershift or the stepless AutoPowr or EAutoPowr transmissions depending on model. It also gets the push button start with pin code protection which John Deere is very excited about. There is also an easier closing door, wireless phone charging and a smart seat with saveable settings.
Regarding performance, the wheeled models now have the option of central tyre pressure control.
All 8R, 8RT and 8RX models are precision farming ready from the factory with an integrated receiver technology, G5 Plus and CommandCenter displays with a JDLink telematics connection. Deere says the tractors are also have supervised autonomy features from AutoTrac to automated headland turns. But more interestingly, can be retrofitted with autonomy technology.
