Weaving had its first ever 12m trailed Sabre Tine drill on display at Cereals.
Coming as standard with a hopper split three ways and individual in-house-built metering units, the new machine can be fitted with a further two small seed hoppers to deliver up to five different products down the spout at once.
Weighing in at 12t empty, the big rig boasts four 3.0m frame sections each carrying 12 coulters spaced 250mm apart. These can be equipped with either knife points or band sowing boots. According to the Worcestershire company key to the wide-span machine’s success is its ability to faithfully follow surface undulations.
Each of the frame sections is mounted to the main toolbar via a central pivot. Depth wheels on each wing tip then ensure the coulters ride up and over lumps and bumps, maintaining an even seed depth. Price for a 12m Sabre Tine is £148,800 and we’re told a similar width version of Weaving’s GD disc drill will join the fold in 2027.
