The trend towards wider working kit has prompted Stock Ag to develop a Turbo Jet to apapplicatorsply higher application rates at widths up to 15m.

Called the Turbo Jet 10 HD, the hydraulic fan provides even more air flow than the current range (widest working width is 10m) to apply small to medium sized seeds such as oilseed rape, clover, grass and mustard, at high rates from 10m as well as micro and granular products at low to medium rates, all at up to 15m.

It can also be run at faster forward speeds and can be set up to apply full-width, in bands or in rows as required with outlets either blanked-off or doubled up as necessary.

The hydraulic fan can be remotely mounted away from dusty areas. On Cambridge rolls, the hydraulic unit can be fixed to the main drawbar with the hopper positioned above the rollers, reducing the hydraulic pipework required.

Product is metered by a rotary feed and delivered pneumatically, however instead of an electrically driven fan, the Turbo Jet 10 HD has a hydraulic version, which offers an output to match most drills. Tractor oil flow requirement is from 27 to 65lit/min.

The applicator is supplied with either 10 or 20 outlets and a 240 or 400-litre hopper. Two different control systems are available; the Jackal or i-CON, both offering fan speed and function monitoring. ISObus ready machines are also available for connecting directly to the tractor’s in-cab terminal.

Sean Stanfield, sales manager at Stocks Ag says the new unit is driven by demand for a high-accuracy, high-capacity applicator that can handle wider working widths. “With its upgraded fan and performance beyond 10m, we believe this will be a real game-changer in the market,” he says.

A Turbo Jet 10 Hydraulic with Jackal control, large seed block (typically used for grass seed and cover crops) and a 10-outlet spreader kit plus C rails retails at £8,718. The new model will be on the Stocks Ag stand at Agritechnica.
