DRIVING IMPRESSION: In equipping its Arion line with Stage IIIB (Tier 4i) engines, Claas has done more than just lower its tractor emissions. For starters there’s a new cab and, in addition, the family has a new range-topper in the 169hp (rated, ECE R24) 650
We have grown accustomed to makers enhancing the spec of tractors in line with the introduction of cleaner engines, but Claas has perhaps gone a step farther. From the entry-level four-cylinder 133hp Arion 530 to the range-topping six cylinder 169hp Arion 650 model, all operators will now essentially enjoy the same cab accommodation as used on the flagship 390hp Axion 950 (see profi international 1/2012).
