DRIVING IMPRESSION: With an automatic transport guard on the latest Orbis 900 header and CEMOS Auto Performance on the harvester itself, Claas wants to give the Jaguar a triple plus on safety, efficiency and operator comfort
Claas originally launched the Orbis 900 header over a decade ago, when it unveiled the new Jaguar 900. With customers buying bigger machines, the introduction of the new generation Orbis 900 will help tame the extra horsepower of today’s more powerful foragers.
For our test we used the new 9.0m header to feed into a Jaguar 990 TT, which had the full accompaniment of automatic functions on tap. Moreover, the spec list also included the firm’s latest corn cracker development, a new harder wearing coating — see the panel ‘Hard shell, soft core’ on page 35 for more details on this.

The diagonal feeding cones just in front of the feed roller housing provide their grippy assistance. Arranged a steeper angle and wider spaced than the previous model, they feed the plants to the feed rollers
