The biggest farm machinery show in the UK, LAMMA presents more than 600 exhibitors from across the globe. It remains a showcase for British and Irish companies, as well as home grown names gone multi-national. Jane Carley looks at some of the innovations they have in store.

MASSEY FERGUSON

Massey Ferguson will showcase this spangly 9S.425 which has been treated to the ‘MF By You’ customisation studio. Finished in striking metallic red livery, the 9S also features black coated wheel rims, ‘athermic’ window tints to reflect the sun’s radiation away from the cab and the operator, smartphone armrest holder, and Focal speaker upgrade.

Also on show will be the recently launched 8S Xtra, alongside the brand-new 5S with Dyna-VT transmission option (reviewed in full in our Agritechica report).

Compact 1M and 1700e models will highlight the options available to users, with a mid-mounted mower deck and scraper attached to the tractors on display.

NEW HOLLAND

New Holland will present an extensive range of innovations at the show, including the latest T7 XD and the T7 SWB tractors, the latter of which featured in the profi 12/2025 driving impression.

There’s plenty to look at on the forage side too – the new W170D+ Forage Power wheeled loader making its UK debut. With an operating weight of 16.4 tonnes, it delivers 1,300Nm of engine torque and peak power output of 255hp. Pivot pin height is 4.54m for greater loading capability.

FR Forage Cruiser models have been revised, with the new ForageCam option offering a spout-mounted camera to continually analyse chopped crop flow, monitoring the percentage of fully processed kernels. Big Drum Pro maize headers have also been updated to give automatic changeover from road to field.

WORKSHOP IN FOCUS

LAMMA has an established reputation as the event to find a wide range of components and services for workshop use. A couple of this year’s highlights include:

Avon Tuning HD (ATHD)’s latest Dimsport Genius remapping device, introduced to reduce the number of tools currently required to remap agricultural machines. A computer or laptop is no longer required for any of the ECU reading or writing processes. The Genius has upgraded software and firmware updating processes, making it quicker and easier to use than its predecessors and allowing engineers to carry out OBD tuning and bench tuning. A remote VPN connection option allows ATHD’s technical support team to remotely access the device to resolve any issues as they arise.

The latest device will replace the New Genius and New Transdata units currently employed across the agent network, which extends to over 175 across the UK and Ireland.

Kramp acquired the Vapormatic brand and product range in 2025, so the show will provide an opportunity for visitors to discuss what’s on offer. The company will also hold a competition for a farmer or dealer to win £3,500 of racking for their workshop.

CASE IH PUMA DEBUTS

With a first showing for the low-profile cab version, the latest Puma is available in 155, 165 or 185hp models with a new CVXDrive transmission, and extended 750-hour service intervals. The tractor’s gross vehicle weight has increased by 18 percent to 13,500kg and a max payload of 5,500kg, opening up heavier duty applications.

A new front axle suspension and enhanced braking responsiveness offers extra safety and stability at the Puma’s top speeds of 50km/hr. Other features include updated linkage and hitch plus a turn radius of 11.4m.

The new higher horsepower Optum will also make its UK show debut.

SIMTECH FROM OPICO

Opico will present the Simtech range of direct drills for the first time as its new distributor. A mix of specialist grassland seeders and more mainstream arable machines, the line-up includes mechanical box drills and wider, more sophisticated pneumatic units.

The smaller, simpler gravity-fed box drills start at 1.8m with the VT180 model aimed at the viticultural market and also include the TSG240 and TSG300 grass drills and TS300 arable direct drill.

With options for both grassland and arable, the range of air drills starts at 3.0m and runs through to the range topping 6.0m TS6004A which utilises a front tank and rear coulter frame. Grain only or grain and fertiliser split hoppers are available and additional metering units can be fitted for multi-species establishment in one pass.

Simtech drills feature an opener disc in front of a patented T-slot coulter designed to consistently place seed at a uniform depth in its own micro-environment. The coulter creates a 40mm wide opening with a permeable base in which to place the seed.

STORTH KING COBRA

The King Cobra from Storth Machinery is a high-performance chopper slurry pump built for the toughest conditions. Its galvanised heavy-duty frame and powerful chopping mechanism are designed to handle thick, fibrous slurries with ease, reducing blockages and improving efficiency.

Paired with the Jetter, it forms a powerful hydraulic mixing and pumping system. The Jetter uses a hydraulic ram and motor to move the nozzle vertically and horizontally, delivering a high-pressure slurry flow that breaks up crusts and large chunks for smoother, more consistent mixing.

ABBEY SHOWCASES INDUSTRIAL RANGE

Visitors to the Abbey Machinery stand will be able to learn more about the company’s expanding Industrial range, which offers bespoke engineering solutions for waste handling, bioenergy, and municipal applications — showcasing the company’s growing expertise and innovation beyond the agricultural sector. ALVAN BLANCH SHOWS STORAGE TECH

A range of the latest technologies from Alvan Blanch will be on display, including a DF dryer which can be supplied in mobile format for transporting between stores, plus a vertical dust extraction system to allow for ease of installation within existing buildings.

There will be a ‘live’ demonstration of the company’s interactive PLC with the latest software updates, offering improved drying control. As intercropping becomes more popular, a rotary screen cleaner ideal for grading grains, beans, seeds etc, will be on show.

UPDATED SPRAYER RANGES FROM KNIGHT

Knight Farm Machinery plans to reveal multiple innovations including revised trailed and self-propelled sprayer ranges, plus completely new technology for dealing with residual chemical remaining in a sprayer once work is complete, to minimise risk to crops, operators and the public.

Specification for the new KT trailed and KSP self-propelled ranges includes 36m booms, Knight Individual Nozzle Switching (KINS), a LACOS touchscreen terminal and new SmartRinse technology, which also makes its debut at the show.  A fully-automated sprayer rinse system designed to ease operator workload and simplify sprayer rinse cycles in the field, SmartRinse ensures that when the empty sprayer leaves the field the tank, pipework and nozzles have all been fully rinsed.

RICHARD WESTERN SET TO SHOW TRAILER DEVELOPMENTS

Shown on maximum flotation 600/55 R26.5 tyres, the SF18HS Super Suffolk silage trailer on the Richard Western stand will feature a new double flip sheet development, for full chopped material retention.

The hydraulically-operated two-piece design uses a double-acting supply to swiftly operate a pair of robust steel framework structures supporting strong polypropylene sheeting, securing chopped crop and protecting it from spillage.

Richard Western is also debuting one of its nurse tank units at LAMMA. The 50m3 NT50 qualifies for Government grants, and has a dual-purpose design, meaning it can also be used for transport during silage season.

Specification includes multiple inlet/outlet points, sight glasses, a fully-opening hydraulic tailgate, and a hydraulic tipping body for efficient sediment emptying, with a single-displacement tipping ram.

TRAMSPREAD NEW DRIBBLE BAR

Tramspread will launch a new 24m vertical folding dribble bar which has been field-tested in prototype form with sister company Tramspread Contracting. Further testing is currently underway to assess its suitability for use with self-propelled tankers.

The new boom folds vertically making it suitable for use with any make and model of appropriately sized tractor. It is close-coupled, meaning it’s well-matched to tractors of around 150hp plus. The ability to fold down to 18m, with shut-off taps, has been retained from the existing 18/24m dribble bar. Other features include breakback end sections, electro-hydraulic controls using Power Beyond and left/right variable boom geometry. The design doesn’t rely on guy ropes for support.

Pipework from the front-mounted swinging arm through to the two macerators is 12cm in diameter to accommodate high flowrates and for maximum output. There is the choice of macerators from Alrena or Vogelsang.

When folded, the new 24m model allows full access to the tractor pickup hitch so that the applicator tractor can tow an engine driven pump unit between jobs. This feature means that just one tractor is needed for running an umbilical spreading system when working with a front-mounted random wrap hose reeler, dribble bar and engine- driven pump unit equipped with a suitable Tramspread remote control system.

AGRISPREAD CONVEYOR MODELS

The new AS3000 Series from Agrispread is designed to deliver wider spreading widths, higher application rates per hectare and faster working speeds.

Its rear twin hydraulic folding conveyor feed twin disc spreader can achieve increased spread widths of up to 48m for urea, over 52m for mineral granular fertilisers and up to 30m for drier flowable limes, gypsum, basalt, sand, organic fertilisers and bulk products.

Initially it will be available in three model sizes the AS3120 single axle in 11.9 or 13.7m3 capacities, the 17m3 AS3150T tandem axle and 21m3 AS3220T tandem axle.

The outer disc and conveyor are 3.05m from centre, engineered for high ground clearance; the disc height of 850mm is for crop clearance, rough terrain/conditions and achieving maximum spread width for a given product type.

Specification includes a tandem hydraulic piston pump system to achieve the required oil flow per/min required to meet the application rates at wider spread widths and forward speeds and an ISObus.

Manual folding out wing deflectors for additional wind protection and a new sprung drawbar design are standard.

MCHALE EXTENDS RAKE OFFERING

McHale adds a range-topping model to its centre delivery rake offering, the R80-90, which has a working width of 8.0m to 9.0m. It offers rotor height adjustment, tine arm cam adjustment, hydraulic width control and individual rotor lift as standard for clean gathering of crop to the swath.

The pivoting headstock couples into the tractor linkage arms and controls the steering system, while drive is through a wide-angle gearbox to the individual rotors. The rotors are suspended centrally using heavy duty springs and both operate at equal ground pressures across the working width, which is adjusted hydraulically by the telescoping arms from the tractor seat. Tine arms are detachable to allow for storage in low building or reduce the transport height. For added protection, all tine arms are fitted with tine end savers to ensure that if a tine breaks it will not fall into the crop.

TRIO TEAM UP WITH NEW PRODUCTS

Kidd Farm Machinery, WRAG, and John Harvey Engineering present new products on a joint stand. The Kidd-875TC can chop and shred straw from up two Hesston bales at once using an optional extended tailgate and produces a material suitable for use in a mixed ration. Retractable knives can be activated at the flick of a switch, ensuring the right chop length for the job at hand.

Designed to work demanding environments, the Wragtrack Tow It self-propelled post driver combines a compact design with a two-speed drive mode and a 180-degree mast swing. A 200kg hammer is standard, with a 300kg option; a remote control can also be specified.

With a four-tonne capacity, the John Harvey Engineering FDA4 Field Dispenser can precisely dispense any amount of feed in 100g increments. It comes with a heavy-duty chassis, full road lighting, and a roll-over tarp. A feed arm is an option to dispense into feeder of troughs.

SHELBOURNE 4000 SERIES TRIMMER RANGE

Shelbourne Reynolds will be launching the 4000 Series trimmer range, building on the company’s previous 400 Series, but with a new control system and new four-point stabiliser system designed to make the machine easier to mount on the tractor and to use.

A new fully electronic proportional joystick control system is fitted to an ergonomically designed seat mounted console with all switches located equidistant from the joystick. It is said to make cab installation easier while the addition of proportional head angling as a third proportional service makes the machine more accurate to use. Operators can adjust response speeds to suit their preferences.

The heavy duty four-point linkage stabiliser bracket is based on the design of the 6000 and 7000 Series stabiliser frame, combining with the standard fitment of Shelbourne’s drawbar stabiliser bracket.

DUAL FUNCTION SPREAD-A-BALE

Spread-a-Bale will be launching the first ever dual-function machine with a new head which combines feeding forage and straw spreading. Called the Combi-Bale, the system’s side mounted design is based on Spread-a-Bale’s HR straw spreading machine which features a head with one single horizontal rotor and the addition of newly designed bladed-edge tines.

A diverter valve and dual-speed motor have been introduced to control the rotor’s direction: in an anti-clockwise direction chopping and feeding out haylage or silage into the feed passage or fence, as well as loading into mixer wagons, while the clockwise rotation throws straw up to 15 metres.

Performance has been upgraded with new high-flow hydraulics enabling the machine to deliver 46% more power and 27% greater efficiency. The Combi-Bale is compatible with both round and square bales and requires only one loader and operator with 70l/minute oil flow.

Once de-twined or unwrapped, one bale of forage or straw can be fed out or spread in less than one minute.

The Combi-Bale head is available with Mini, Midi, Midi XL, Maxi and Maxi XL body sizes, as well as a trailed chassis option available for the Midi size and upwards.

JCB

The latest heavy-lift JCB telescopic handlers will make their UK debut: the Loadall 546-70, capable of lifting 4.6 tonnes, and the Loadall 555-70, with maximum lift capacity of 5.5 tonnes. Both lift to 7.0 metres, with a 160-litre/min hydraulics system and increased tear-out force. They will be available with a choice of JCB DieselMax engine power from 130hp to 173hp, alongside the DualTech VT transmission.

Their introduction coincides with the development of IntelliAssist, a suite of automated boom and attachment functions.

JCB will also preview two Loadall Compact 6.0 metre telescopic handlers featuring an all-new cab offering improved visibility, reduced-noise and vibration measures; the 526-60 providing 100kg greater lift capacity than its predecessor.

A major crowd puller is likely to be the new 284hp Fastrac 6260 and 335hp 6300. The new series also offers a fully-integrated central tyre inflation system operated through the touchscreen control centre in the cab.
