Bigger combines need bigger chaser bins, so, to keep up with this demand for increased grain ferrying capacity, Annaburger has introduced the new HTS 34.16. We caught up with one of the newcomers in Germany’s Lower Saxony last harvest
The Annaburger HTS 34.16 holds a massive 46mÑ or over 32t of wheat, which should allow the big tri-axle chaser to keep up with the latest generation of high output combines. HTS 34.16 equates to a gross weight of 34t. Unladen, the Annaburger weighs around 12t, meaning there is enough room to carry 22t of cargo on the road, depending on local regs. But in the field the chaser bin can hold as much as 46t.
A big bin
As on its smaller sibling model, the HTS 34.16 has two augers: the one in the sump and the unloading auger up front. In addition, the featured machine was fitted with the optional (€9,150) Digi-Star weighing system, which utilises six weigh cells (two on each axle) and a special hitch ring to constantly determine the payload. As the system is integrated into the hydraulic suspension, this means there’s no need for a heavy double-frame chassis.
Also on the options list is a partition (€6,145), so the chaser can be employed on seed and fertiliser filling duties in both the spring and autumn. If you plan on using the Annaburger for filling the farm’s drill, it’s probably worth making the extra investment in the hydraulic floor auger for better control.
The bin itself has two large Plexiglas windows in the front, making it easier to watch inside the bin while being loaded … as long as the unloading auger is unfolded out of the way. There are also three cameras — one on the unloading auger, one inside the hopper and another at the rear — to give a better overview of what’s going on in and around the machine.
The top of the trailer stands at 3.70m so the combine must have an unloading height of 4.00m or more.
