From launch the Blue Bird CL is available either in mounted (3.00-5.30m) or semimounted (5.30m-8.05m) format, and to get a feel for what’s on offer we tucked a 3.00m mounted model into light-ish soils where the job at hand was to incorporate reasonably well rotted maize stubble. First, though, a tour of the CL hardware, which, when pared back to its core elements, comprises 13 sprung break-back tines, convex levelling discs and the firm’s signature ‘U-Pak’ roller.
