Driving impression: Schaeffer 9330T pivot-steer loader Until the 177hp Schaeffer pivot-steer handler, complete with its innovative two-stage boom, breaks cover at this year’s Agritechnica show in November, the featured 9330T model remains the ‘flag’ of the company’s range. Geoff Ashcroft takes control of this hydrostatically driven telescopic loader.

The Schaeffer telehandler line-up has recently been freshened up, with the result that the 9330T – the current flagship – benefits from a new cab design and an improved joystick control.

Straight to business. Schaeffer’s enhanced operator accommodation enjoys a revised air conditioning system that now lives behind the dashboard and steering column assembly. This keeps the cabin roof low, says the firm, and makes the unit easier to access for maintenance. other changes include a sloping front windscreen, which curves back into the roof to help visibility when working with raised loads. Inside the cab, the new joystick controller and its push buttons – the buttons avoid the need for a separate spool valve control for a third hydraulic service – are prime examples of how the company has
looked to improve ergonomics and provide greater driver comfort. The German maker already had the transmission f/r plus two-speed selection for the hydrostatic transmission as thumb controls on the previous joystick system.
