The self-propelled diet feeder market in the UK is best described as small, but it’s starting to grow. One of the front runners is Siloking, which is sold by Kverneland in many countries. Siloking’s latest generation Selfline uses a Volvo Penta engine, and here’s our initial impression

The self-propelled diet feeder market could well be about to come of age in the UK. With herd sizes on the increase, more time is being spent feeding, and going the self-propelled route makes this a one-man, one-machine operation. For farms contending with tight yard layouts, self-propelled feeders can be a much more manoeuvrable combination with increased capacity versus a tractor and trailed feeder rig.

Looking to tempt stock farmers to part with their hard-earned cash is Siloking, which in the UK and Ireland falls under the Kverneland Group distribution umbrella. The German feeder maker showed its latest range of models at Agritechnica last year.
