Nearly all trailing shoe applicators work on a 25cm spacing, including those from Zunhammer, which has come up with the Duplo in response to demand from its customers in southern Germany. The idea is relatively simple: instead of applying slurry in bands at 25cm intervals, spacing is reduced to 12.5cm, which halves the amount of slurry applied in each row.
