The reality is that anyone ordering a new machine today is unlikely to see it until the end of 2008, and used units are equally hard to come by. 2002, the Sumo Trio mounted cultivator was initially marketed in nominal 3.0 and 3.5m widths, a 2.5m version arriving in late 2003. The original Trio design was heavily revised in late 2006, but the basic concept remained unaltered – subsoiling legs, followed by 500mm diameter discs with an 800mm Multipacka at the rear. Bottom line is that those seeking out a second-hand buy can expect much the same performance from an early Trio as from a current unit. There are, however, a number of other supplementary points to consider.
The Trio is manufactured by SW Agriservices at its factory in Full Sutton, just east of York, and it would be fair to say that this heavy-duty cultivator is the machine that has brought the firm both UK and international
