A pto driven dynamometer is used to measure the power generated at the pto or drive point of a tractor
or harvester. This is a useful way to assess and optimise an engine’s output without having to take the engine out and test it directly on an engine test bed.

The Eggers dynamometer measures the power generated at a tractor’s pto. This is done electrically with an electrical induction brake/retarder, also known as an eddy current brake
