Czech tractor maker Zetor boasts a distinguished heritage, having pumped models out of its factory in Brno as far back as the 1940s.

Here within the UK, however, the firm’s lineage is somewhat shorter. It was the highly regarded Crystal models that first established the marque in this market back in the 1970s, when the no-nonsense design quite clearly struck a chord with what were then largely livestock farming buyers. Indeed it could be argued that familiar Zetor favourites such as the 85hp 8011 2WD and 8045 4WD offered standard features that frankly embarrassed some of the more established ‘western’ tractor manufacturers at the time.

Subjects of this review, 7341 Super and its successor, the current 8441 Proxima, built on the success of the Crystals, which were still sold well into the 1980s.
