The Minsk-based tractor maker did not bring its eagerly awaited 500hp tractor to Hannover, but a new 75hp 742, which is flagged up as the first of a new generation of Belarus tractors.

Finished, like the other tractors on the stand in a new red, white and green livery, the main difference with the 742 is the new more modern exterior design, which the company hopes will appeal to European and North American customers.

Powered by a Stage V Cat C2, the transmission is new, as is the cab, which is claimed as the quietest yet for a Belarus tractor. Providing all goes to plan then production is planned for next autumn and while the Minsk Tractor Works makes no secret of using the new styling across the complete power scale, the initial focus is from 75hp to 120hp.
