Next season’s Axial-Flow 160 series combines are equipped with new automation features, additional precision farming technology and a redesigned cab interior.

The new electronic architecture allows faster data processing on the mid-range machines and enables remote support. One of the most notable innovations is the use of two Pro 1200 displays in the cab. This allows the operator to view machine data and agronomic information at the same time.

The updated combines introduce upgraded precision farming features, including the new Vector Pro receiver for enhanced guidance accuracy. Additional technologies include AccuSync for real-time data sharing between multiple machines and AccuTurn for automated headland turning.

There is no mention of any changes to the model numbering in the press release, and we assume the two models – 6160 (400hp) and 7160 (460hp) are still powered by the FPT Cursor 9.

The redesigned cab interior comes from the larger Axial-Flow 260 series. A modified layout, an updated colour scheme and improved air conditioning control should increase comfort. Additional camera connections improve visibility around the machine.

There are a few tweaks to the harvesting technology, though. These include a new cross-auger clutch. This enables independent control of the unloading system, allowing the unloading auger to be fully emptied and reducing grain loss during unloading on the go.

An optional two-speed feeder drive optimises crop flow across varying conditions, while a new concave configuration improves performance in high-moisture crops.

Field tested last season, the upgraded combines are now being introduced at events across Europe, ahead of the first public appearance at the Italian EIMA show in November. Series production is set to begin in July, with deliveries to customers by the autumn.
