Footprint Sheffield is continuing to support and develop the Melco range of workshop equipment following its acquisition of the trading assets of the British company earlier this year.

With a long history of supplying farm workshops with tyre levers, axle stands, bead breakers, wheel braces and wrenches, the Melco range is now produced at Footprint’s Sheffield factory; the last dedicated hand-tool drop forge in the UK.

“Bringing production into our Sheffield factory gives us the opportunity to support the existing range, improve availability and introduce the brand to more agricultural users who may not realise the breadth of the range,” says Tim Jewitt, director of Footprint Sheffield.

For the record, the acquisition, which completed earlier this summer, included Melco’s stock, machinery and intellectual property. Production staff transferred to Footprint, while the former Melco directors remain involved as consultants during the handover.

Melco continues as a standalone brand under Footprint ownership, with existing products and product codes remaining unchanged.
