Kilworth Machinery has been acquired by Startin Tractors. Trading will continue from the Kilworth premises at Smisby for the foreseeable future.

Bringing together two established and complementary businesses, Kilworth Machinery, a specialist supplier of horticultural, groundcare and forestry machinery, also imports specialist equipment, supplying products on a wholesale basis to customers and dealers across the UK. The acquisition provides opportunities to further develop Kilworth’s specialist importing and wholesale activities, supported by the resources and wider customer base of Startin Tractors.

The acquisition will see Mark Parnham and Andrew Finch, together with their colleagues, join Startin Tractors. Both Mark and Andrew will become Kilworth brand specialists for Startin Tractors. “Having both Mark and Andrew as Kilworth brand specialists is a real strength,” comments James Startin. “We are bringing their knowledge and experience into Startin Tractors, rather than simply bringing in a range of products.”

“Startin Tractors has traditionally been associated with agriculture and agricultural machinery, alongside our cars, pick-ups and 4WD vehicles. Kilworth brings a fantastic depth of expertise in horticulture, groundcare and forestry.

Together, that gives us the opportunity to support a much wider range of customers and, importantly, a much wider range of the equipment they use every day. Whether it is a large agricultural tractor, compact machinery for an estate or golf course, specialist forestry equipment, groundcare machinery or a pick-up or 4wd vehicle, we can now offer a complete proposition.”

Mark and Andrew believe Startin Tractors is the right fit. “There is a strong natural connection between the two businesses, and the wider organisation gives us opportunities to develop our products and services further. We are particularly pleased that the whole Kilworth team will be making the move with us. Our customers will have continuity with the people and expertise they know, whilst gaining access to the much broader range of products and services available through Startin Tractors.”
