Pöttinger demonstrated pre-production models of the new Profi 5000 and Boss 5000 Master forage wagons at its Austrian field event this week.

Sitting below the flagship Jumbo range, the Profi 5000, which replaces the Faro, is offered in eight capacities from 29 to 45m³. Described as an ideal entry into the rotor class and an allrounder that can handle any crop, the floating 2.1m pick-up transfers the crop to the double-tine rotor where it passes through the 31-knife chopping system for a theoretical chop length of 45mm.

The machine is equipped standard with the Easy Move swing-out knife bank with central knife release system.

Blade thickness has been reduced from 5mm to 4mm, which Pöttinger reckons reduces the power required by the chopping system by around 10%. The standard automatic loading system is said to distribute the loading power evenly.

The 13-tonne chassis is fitted with 710/35R22.5 tyres. A reversing camera on the rear axle is optional.

Boss 5000 Master

The main talking point of the Boss 5000 Master is the in-house developed Evomatic loading unit. Offering all the advantages of a conventional tine conveyor unit, it is said to offer around 25% higher loading performance compared to the previous design of tine conveyer loading wagons.

Sitting above the existing Boss 2000 and 3000 models, which are mainly for small farms working on hills, the 5000 Master, which is the Austrian company’s highest performance tine conveyor wagon, is for longer road travel distances.

Other notable points of the five-model (29, 30, 33, 39 and 45m³) range, which replaces the Primo, includes a 5% larger loading chamber capacity, and a 2.1m pick-up is on the options list. Like the Profi 5000, the 13-tonne chassis can be fitted with 710/35R22.5 tyres.

The first production models of both the Profi 5000 and Boss 5000 Master will be available ahead of the 2027 grass season.
