The Porto V18 self-loading round bale trailer from Czech manufacturer SMS Agro provides fully automated bale handling without any additional equipment.
While structurally based on the earlier Porto V15, the newcomer can transport an extra three bales. Maximum load capacity of the 10.2m-long Porto 18 is 7.2t. This allows it to carry up to 18 x 400kg round bales with a diameter of up to 1.50m.
Bale collection and loading are carried out by a hydraulically controlled fork that is driven underneath the bale and then placed onto the loading platform. This is equipped with a hydraulic ram that pushes three bales at a time towards the rear of the trailer to free up space for new bales.
A hydraulic cylinder pushes bales off the trailer. Minimum tractor power requirement is 130hp, and the maximum speed of the trailer is 30km/hr. The standard spec includes a pneumatically braked axle.
