German pedal tractor and toy manufacturer Rolly Toys will close its Neustadt factory at the end of this year.

Ending 60 years of pedal tractor manufacturing at the site, the financially troubled company has searched for an investor since filing for self-administered insolvency proceedings in February.

While efforts to find an investor willing to continue production at Neustadt have failed, there is interest in acquiring the Rolly Toys brand but not the manufacturing facility. If this goes ahead, then Rolly Toys’ products will continue to exist, but most likely at a different location.

Founded by the Schneider family in 1938, Rolly Toys started producing pedal tractors in 1966; one of the first being a Massey Ferguson 1100 in scale 1:4. Today, it makes a wide range under license from numerous manufacturers, including Claas, Deutz-Fahr, John Deere, Fendt, Kubota and New Holland.

Up until recently, the well-known German pedal tractor manufacturer built up to 250,000 vehicles a year. Rising costs, declining exports, and the loss of a major customer in 2025 put the company in financial trouble. The closure of the factory will result in the loss of more than 110 jobs.
