Three years after showing the prototype, German mixer wagon maker Siloking has confirmed the delivery of the 100th electrically-powered self-propelled eTruck.

First seen as a single vertical auger 8.0m³ (1408-8) concept at the 2016 EuroTier, the commercial version launched the next year was swiftly joined by two other models; the 10.0m³ 1408-10 and 14.0m³ 1408-14, which was launched at the 2017 Agritechnica.

Made at Siloking’s facility at Tittmoning, most TruckLine e.0 eTrucks, as they are officially called, work in the home market of Germany and neighbouring Austria, but the company reckons to have sold units all over Europe.

The technology sees the mid-mounted diesel engine swapped for a 1.2t lead acid battery pack to power electric wheel motors and the mixing auger.

Loaded by a tractor or telehandler, the one-tonne of on-board batteries are claimed to provide enough charge to mix and feed three batches; sufficient for 100 dairy cows and heifers.
