Stocks Ag will launch a small seed and micro granule applicator for machinery up to 4.0m wide at Lamma next week.
An evolution of the Cambridgeshire based company’s Rotor Meter; the new four-outlet Rotor Jet offers precise metering with air-assisted distribution. The four streams of material can then be split and spread by eight distribution plates to achieve a 4.0m working width.
Unlike the Agritechnica launched Maxi Jet (see link below), which is designed for high-capacity applications on equipment up to 15m wide, the Rotor Jet is targeted at users with smaller host machines wanting a cost-effective solution with similar levels of accuracy.
The Rotor Jet utilises a smaller version of the metering block and rollers employed in its bigger brother the Turbo Jet. Distribution is facilitated by a single high power SPAL fan. Stocks says that the compact design and options of 65-, 130- or 240l hoppers make the Rotor Jet ideal for narrow row width applications.
Control systems include the top of the range i-CON system. This provides maximum functionality, and ISObus connectivity is also available where multiple machines are used simultaneously. However, the company anticipates that the new Jackal controller will suit many operators’ requirements.
The Jackal takes a forward speed input from the tractor’s seven-pin implement plug and a simple control box guides the user through set up, calibration and operation. The control box also provides operational feedback and on-the-move rate control.
