With an emphasis on top quality produce, HMC Peas (Holbeach Marsh Co-operative) has developed its own strict protocol when it comes to pea harvesting. That process requires each season’s 2,000ha crop to reach the freezer within 150 minutes of being harvested. It’s a standard that was laid down by Birds Eye and is a benchmark by which many pea growers are judged.
