The BD10002-10HV was the most eye-catching of the dozen tractors on the Zhongnong Boding stand at this week’s CIAME 2026.
Claimed as the world’s first tractor of this class equipped with a CVT, the hydro-mechanical box, and the 1,000hp Boding Power 6BD57 engine, were developed in-house.
Targeted mainly at land improvement schemes in the northeast of the country, track width is 915mm and maximum tractive force is 320kN. The articulated tractor has a turning radius of 7.5m, a 3000-litre fuel tank, and six electronically controlled hydraulic outputs.
Zhongnong Boding was established in October 2023, but parent company Boding Group has many years of experience developing commercial vehicles, electronic control systems, transmissions and hydraulics.
Developing key components in-house allows it to reduce production costs, and it is hinted that HMCVT models will cost about a third of the price of comparable imported tractors.
The BD10002-10HV is not yet in production; validation tests are expected to start at the end of this month. The company plans to offer HMCVT technology across a range of tractors from 100 to 1,000hp. There will also be a powershift option.
