Same Deutz-Fahr is the second big name to announce it will not attend any farm machinery show in Europe this year, including EIMA (October 19-23) in Italy and Agritechnica (November 14-20) in Germany.

SDF says the decision was taken after a deep analysis of the pandemic situation in Europe. Despite the control measures and the vaccination campaign worldwide, the company says the future scenario is very uncertain.

The announcement follows last month’s decision by John Deere not the attend Agritechnica (citing similar reasons). Parts company Kramp has pulled out of both EIMA and Agritechnica and BKT will not be at the Italian show.

The German Agricultural Society (DLG), which organises Agritechnica, remains optimistic that the physical event will go ahead. In a recent press release the DLG revealed that 90% of the exhibition grounds are booked up and it expects more than 2,000 exhibitors (list currently includes AGCO, Amazone, Claas, Grimme, Horsch, Kubota, Kuhn, Krone, Kverneland, Lemken, Pöttinger and Väderstad).
