The redesigned frame and sections on the latest Elmer’s Manufacturing Super 7 stubble harrow is said to increase stability.

Available in four widths: 21.3m, 27.4m, 33.5m and 39.6m, other improvements to the Canadian made range include an electronically set and hydraulically actuated depth control system.

Recommended tractor power requirement for the Super 7 is 15-20hp/m. The 39.6m model weighs 14.8. With 13 harrow sections and 546 tines, it folds to a transport width and length of 4.6m and nearly 18m, respectively.

Called Dynamic Ground Pressure, it allows the operator to maintain a constant pressure on the seven rows of tines on the move. With 66cm of independent vertical motion on each section, it is said to result in better ground following and straw management.

Hydraulically controlled pivoting wheels allow the transport and field wheels to be replaced, by larger tyres that pivot 90 degrees, increasing flotation and reducing the space and time needed to unfold. This improved design includes moving the wheels 12-24cm closer to the rear linkage. Elmer’s says that this helps to reduce sections from bouncing when working at high speeds.

The Pro option for the Super 7 allows operators to create and store up to 50 presets. With each one, it is possible to choose a setting for the job and then fine-tune the tine angle, section angle and downwards pressure.

The Pro option also includes steerable wheels to improve manoeuvrability in transport mode, allowing the harrow to be guided around obstacles and through narrow-field entrances.
