Premiered at Agritechnica a year ago, the flagship from McCormick’s eagerly-awaited X8 VT-Drive tractors is on display at the Italian EIMA show, which ends today. Powered by 6.7-litre SCR Stage IV engines, the three-model range comprises the 264hp (X8.660), 286hp (X8.670) and 310hp X8.680. Believed to be the most powerful tractor designed and built in Italy, and certainly the most powerful McCormick tractor ever built, the X8.860 is proving popular with the first punters. All three X8 tractors are in production and the first models are expected to arrive in the UK sometime mid-2017. There is no news when Argo Tractors will reveal blue Landini versions, but with SIMA and Agritechnica on the agenda next year then we might not have to wait too long!
