With 680hp on tap, the flagship in the new four-model Gen 2 Vario range is flagged up as the world’s most powerful CVT tractor.
Built at the Jackson factory in Minnesota, the 15.2l MAN D28 in the 1151, 1156 and 1162 develops 521hp, 571hp and 625hp, respectively, while the 16.2l MAN D42 in the 1167 maxes out at 680hp.
The two engines have updated engine control units, a new tractor management system and a hydraulic fan system that runs independently of the engine. Fuel tank capacity has risen by 16 litres to 1,370 litres.
There is also a new cab, which includes the FendtONE workstation, and a new lighting system. The cab configuration includes an armrest with multi-function joystick and freely assignable buttons, a 12-inch armrest terminal, 3L-joystick and a digital dashboard behind the steering wheel. A second roof mounted terminal is optional.
ISObus implement control is standard, and there are new agronomy functions including doc task management and telemetry functions. The Fendt Guide guidance system is optional.
“The MT series has the option of our TI Headland management system which automates headland turns and adjusts the height of the implement automatically,” says Fendt’s Ed Dennett. A dual pump offers greater oil capacity and pressure and the MT can be specified with up to eight spools.
The six-axle track design distributes the nearly 20t weight of the MT, and new Michelin tracks range in width from 46cm to 91cm, although the widest available in the UK will be 69cm to keep the overall width of the tractor to 3m.
“A two-track design with fewer moving parts provides reduced operating costs and the longer track enables the maximum permissible weight of the MT to increase by 7t to almost 27t, with a rear lift capacity of 9t.”
Available to order now from UK dealers, the first machines from the Fendt flagship tractor range are expected to be delivered early in 2027.
