The Rollant 540, which can be used with both film or net, features new rollers, fitted with hardened 50mm stub shafts bolted to the roller body, a stronger chassis and a new drive concept. With a choice of net or film wrapping, the redesigned bale chamber has 15 rollers and makes bales with a diameter of 1.22m and width of 1.25m.

On Roto-Cut versions the chopping mechanism has 15 knives, with a theoretical cut length of 70mm. The knives have individual protection against foreign objects and can be swung in from the cab, and should a blockage occur, the cutting floor can be lowered with a command from the control terminal.

The new Disco 3200 (3.0m) Move front mower uses a new design of headstock that allows the mower to move over a range of 1.0m independent of the tractor linkage. Claas says that this results in a faster reaction speed and optimum ground contour following.

Available both with and without a tined conditioner, the mower unit is also able to pivot laterally from the central pivot point, which is set at a 30-degree angle. As a result, the mowing unit can swing backwards at a slight diagonal angle to avoid obstacles.

This year Claas celebrates the production of its 40,000th Jaguar self-propelled forager and in recognition of this two special edition 800 and 900 models bearing 40,000 branding will be on display and working at Scotgrass, which takes place on May 15.
