The latest version of Överum’s CX fully mounted reversible plough is still produced at the Swedish factory in Småland, and like the previous version continues to be available in three, four or five furrows for tractors up to 160hp, but the frame on the new CX2 models is of a lighter and stronger high-tensile steel modular tube design.
This results in a lighter and stronger design with a significant reduction of welded joints and few moving parts, says Kongskilde Agriculture, and a design that is not only 40% stronger but also provides good clearance for crop residues.
New high-grade steel components are also used to transfer power from the headstock to the frame, and the adjustment of the front furrow width, and the CX2 can handle wider furrows adjustable in five steps from 35-55cm (three steps in the previous version). The latest models can be equipped with a new hydraulic alignment cylinder that centres the plough before turning. Standard for the five-furrow plough, it is recommended for four furrow versions when working with a furrow width above 45cm.
The CX2 can be fitted with a wide range of plough bodies including the new XLD and XSD (slatted), and models with add-on flange can be extended later with an extra furrow. Stone protection devices include shear bolt or hydraulic release.
