Alstrong has introduced the Auctus M, a fully-mounted variant of the trailed Auctus T.  The key difference between the two models is the trailed model, which we looked at in the July 2017 issue, has an additional prismatic ring roller and of course the running gear to carry the 4.5t machine.

The 2.3t (empty weight) mounted model has the same two rows of scarifying paddles, 610mm diameter aerating roller and rear spring tines. The model on show was fitted with a Doyle air seeder of which there are two versions; one where you drive with at a fixed speed and the other with GPS alter the metering in relation to the forward speed.

Alan Winters points out the original Auctus was indeed mounted but with just one row of front tines which was not ideal for pre-cultivated ground and had manual adjustment, whereas the newcomer is hydraulic.

Price as shown is €16,000 with the fixed speed seeder.
