The 50th anniversary year of Slovenian grass kit manufacturer SIP will culminate at Agritechnica where the company will show a prototype of what is claimed as the world’s widest disc mower. Called the Silvercut Disc 1500T FC, the five 3.25m-wide mowers provide a cutting width of 14.55m.

Operating at speeds of up to 15km/hr, outputs of up to 22.5ha/hr are possible, says the company. Even without a conditioner, the 1500T weighs 9t, and SIP recommends a minimum tractor power of at least 350hp. The 1500T folds to a transport width of 2.99m, height 3.99m and length 7.50m.

Completing the company’s 15m mowing, tedding and raking solutions, SIP will also show the Spider 1500/14T 14-rotor tedder and Star 1250/50T four-rotor rake.
