Krone started the ball rolling with ultra-high-density bales when it introduced its Big Pack HDP II in 2013. Finally AGCO has followed suit, last year launching its Hesston-built alternative available in both green and red as the Fendt Squadra 1290N UD and the identical MF1290 U HD. We got our hands on one of the Bavarian-branded machines last harvest in some less than ideal conditions.
In terms of external appearances, this new AGCO baler is a sleek streamliner compared with its older siblings. In fact, alongside it they now appear rather frumpy, and its stylish lines make the 13.4t machine look really light-footed. The truth couldn’t be more different
