DRIVING IMRESSION: More evolution than revolution, the Harrier is Househam’s successor to the Merlin range. We take a close look at this heavily revised self-propelled sprayer
Harrier is Househam Sprayers’ replacement for its Merlin. As such, it comes with 4000, 5000 and 6000-litre tanks, accompanied with a range of twin-fold and tri-fold steel booms extending from 24-36m.
Its arrival comes as no surprise, given the love hate relationship many operators had with their Merlins. And five years after its 2012 launch, the Merlin Mark II arrived to resolve minor issues and take onboard operator feedback. But that still wasn’t enough, and so the British maker wiped the slate clean to develop the new Harrier.
“Harrier takes on-board all the criticisms levelled at the Merlin and addresses those issues,” explains Toby Corsan, Househam product manager. “We’ve pulled together a huge amount of customer feedback, criticism and input from owners, operators and contractors, and the result is the new Harrier.”
