New Holland certainly couldn’t be accused of hanging out the machine-launch bunting when its Stage IIIB-compliant T6 superseded the T6000 tractors earlier this year. Which, to be frank, is to the firm’s credit, as not that much has actually changed. To confirm what’s new — and what isn’t — we take a closer look at the four-pot 96kW/131hp T6.160 model.

While New Holland has used the transition to Stage IIIB to give some of its tractor ranges an overhaul, the upgrade from T6000 to Stage IIIB T6 passed almost without notice. Indeed it could be argued the most dramatic change comes from the firm’s decision to ditch its Delta, LS, Plus and Elite packages, so a T6 buyer can now tailor the exact spec required on his 121hp to 154hp tractor without the pack constraints of the previous range. NH reckons
this means owners are no longer excluded from certain spec combinations such as a low profile cab with suspension.
