Updates to the third generation of the Varitron 470 self-propelled harvester include the more modern design and a new suspension system to simplify attachment and removal of the haulm topper. The input power of the haulm topper has been increased.

Other new features include Speedtronic-web, which provides automatic speed adjustment allowing the main webs to be controlled according to forward speed and crop load. Also, the direction of rotation of the extraction unit can now be reversed, allowing the rollers to rotate either in the extraction or transfer mode and next season’s Varitron 470 comes standard with the CCI 1200 operator terminal.

The updates, which are included on both the wheeled and Terra Trac versions, also include brighter LED work lights. Powered by a 460hp Stage V engine, the 470 can be equipped with different intakes for harvesting potatoes, onions and carrots.

Other Grimme self-propelled news concerns the two-row Evo 280, which up to now could optionally be equipped with a 6.0t NonstopBunker. New for this season is the option of a larger 7.5t capacity version. Despite the larger dimensions, the width of the harvester remains below 3.0m on the road.

There is also a new two-row trailed elevator harvester for the 2023 season. Called Select 200, the ISObus operated machine, which is available with a wide range of different separators, comes with automatic axle steering and the telescopic axle keeps the road width below 3.0m.
