For contractors who like their horsepower without the frills, Claas is adding the Jag 880 as an alternative to the 960, which both pack 626hp. This flagship in the 800 range has been available in North America since the updated models were released a couple of years ago.

Product specialist Dean Cottey points out that the 880 will be of particular interest to customers who do not need that finer chop for AD maize, if that is on your list of jobs then the 900 range is the man for you. The 880 shares its internals with the rest of the 800 range with some slight tweaks to deal with the added power. It uses a 20 blade chopping cylinder.

There is the option of Dynamic Power which adjusts the engine map in relation to how hard the machine is working in order to optimise fuel consumption. The 880 comes with the latest colour CEBIS screen.
