Monarch Tractor, the American manufacturer of electric and autonomous tractors, is expanding to Europe and opening a branch (Monarch Tractor Europe) in Antwerp, Belgium.
Described by Monarch Tractor CEO and co-founder Praveen Penmetsa as the next logical step for the company’s ongoing strategic growth journey, the new base will serve the European market. There are plans for a European R&D department, a digital expertise centre and the production of the tractors is also planned to take place in Europe.
“This milestone reflects our long-term engagement to serve the European market with a portfolio of solutions fulfilling the requirements of European farmers,” comments managing director for Europe Stéphane Jacobs.
Visitors to Agritechnica 2023 will already have seen the MK-V, and a couple of models were also on the stand at Eima last November. Mainly intended for vineyards, orchards, livestock farms and blueberry plantations, Monarch says that the tractors ran for almost 67,000 hours worldwide last year.
