Attaching the boom framework’s telescopic arms to fixed points welded on the rear of the tanker is said to balance the load more safely and is also said to increase boom stability.

The company also reckons that this framework and fixing method allows larger booms to be fitted to smaller tankers, without significant modifications. The design also creates additional space for a flow meter to be incorporated into the application system.

The Suffolk tanker booms are available in working widths from 6.0m to 10.5m.
