Production of Zetor’s new look Major tractors has started at the Brno facility and the first models will be delivered to customers in the next few weeks.

The new look, which was developed by Italian design company Pininfarnina, was first seen at the 2015 Agritechnica. The finished result was on display at the same German show last year as the new Major.

The four-pot 75hp Deutz-powered tractor is available in CL and HS versions. The CL is a simple mechanical tractor with 12/12 transmission, while the HS has a 24/12 transmission and a top speed of 40km/hr.

The transmission is equipped with two-stage torque multiplier and electro-hydraulic reverser which makes it possible to change travel direction under load. The lift capacity of the CL is 2.4t, while the HS can hoist up to 3.3t.

The Czech tractor maker will use the same design on new Proxima and Forterra tractors, which we understand will be launched sometime next year.
