IThere are two points to clear up for starters. First, we’re not looking at the vital third element in this triplex Claas Disco mowing argument — the front mower. Why? In reality, the front mower is typically the one that is most likely to suffer a battering in work, so contractors trading in their rear butterfly units often hang onto the front mower element as a ready back-up to their replacement mowing system. Of course, there are used front mowers on the market, such as the Claas 3050FC, but they’re not as simple to source as you might think. Bottom line is that locating a suitable front mower is a subject in itself — and one that we’re certain to tackle in a future magazine.
