USED MACHINERY…when buying a used Claas Quadrant 1200 Roto- Cut chopping baler because there have been plenty of changes and upgrades since they were introduced in 1995. Not all machines have been modified so buyers need to know what to look for
Claas first introduced the Quadrant 1200 big baler in 1989. Producing a 1.20 x 2.50 x 0.70m ‘square’ bale, the machine was soon seen as a viable alternative to a round baler for silage work. Claas obviously agreed and by 1995 the Quadrant 1200RC with a 25-knife RotoCut system was introduced. This later model is a popular baler with Continental contractors, although the high price and power requirement meant that only a handfull of examples made it to the UK.
Several changes were made to the machine over the five seasons it was produced and it is important to know what these were and why they were made when looking fora used model. The Quadrant 1200 RC has now been superseded by the 2200RC.
