Back in February, JCB launched a new range of side-engined telescopic handlers with lift heights up to 13.5m. Here we concentrate on the main farming machine, the 7m 530-70

Sticking engines on the side, rather than in the middle or tacked on the tail, seems to be all the rage among farming’s telescopic handler makers. They’re all at it. For some time Merlo, Caterpillar, Matbro and Manitou have been mounting engines on the offside of their rigidchassis telehandlers to improve rear three-quarter visibility. And now JCB joins the party with its agricultural-spec Loadall 530-70.
